SILVER STATE INDUSTRIES

Silver State Industries is the self supporting industrial program within the State Of Nevada's Correctional System. Our products are manufactured inside correctional facilities, utilizing inmate labor. All of Silver State Industries' programs are self supportive, and actually return money to the state, thus lowering tax dollars needed. This past fiscal year our industry program has returned over $408,331.00 to the State of Nevada, through inmate room and board payments, and well over $3,500,000.00 since it's inception. Working inmates must also contribute a percentage of their earnings (over $83,618.00 FY99) to a Victims of Crime fund and a capital improvment fund. Our industry program is designed to reduce inmate idleness, teach skills and work ethics, reduce incarceration costs, and provide high quality products at competitive prices.
